One important way to reduce the number of blocked transmissions which doesn't get a mention here is for pilots to always pause and listen before beginning a new transmission, especially when it's the first one after changing frequency. In my recent experience, many pilots still don't do this. This 'advice' clearly comes under the general heading of "Radio Discipline" as quoted here under 'Defences' but the separate entry there also does not include any reference to premature commencement of transmissions.--Chris.stewart 14:24, 8 February 2008 (CET)
