Quality Assurance

From SKYbrary Wiki

Whilst noting that the concept and practice of Quality Assurance under a designated Quality Manager is explained here clearly, I think that it would be useful to explain, in the context of Quality Assurance (QA), what Quality Control (QC) is. I would suggest that QC is the process whereby an executive department in an organisation which is subject to an overall QA system satisfies itself internally and routinely that its quality status is satisfactory. The practice of 'internal' QC makes the effectiveness of QA much greater because its existence usually means that QA is not (potentially) faced with such complex audit tasks or, indeed, audit outcomes!--Ed.Pooley 1225,10 January 2008(CET)
