Flight Level or Altitude Confusion

From SKYbrary Wiki

Whilst I have seen some evidence that the ICAO system of verbalising FL100/200/300 can cause confusion, However, I don't think that the same can be said for the non standard alternative used in some parts of Europe. It would be nice to summarise or refer to the 'safety case' used for the non standard alternative, since it appears to reduce level busts not add to them as implied here. --John.Milner 00:01, 19 February 2008 (CET)

the right SOPs are needed too

May I suggest that this article has a implied assumption under 'solutions' that adherence to SOPs will/can fix the problem. Unfortunately, not all Company SOPs are good ones and unless they are, adherence to them won't necessarily help! Having said that, once we pilots observe that we have SOPs that make sense, we're much more likely to follow them routinely.--Joe.scott 00:10, 19 February 2008 (CET)
