Västerås Airport, now known as Stockholm Västerås Airport and originally as Hässlö Flygplats is located about 5 km2.7 nm
east of Västerås city centre and about 110 km59.395 nm
west of Stockholm, Sweden. Most movements are general aviation but since attracting some low cost operators, it has been renamed by the airport operator as 'Stockholm Västerås'. It was originally a Swedish Air Force base when it was called 'Hässlö Flygplats'.
