Climatology

Cold Semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSk). - Hot, sometimes extremely hot summers and cold, sometimes very cold winters. Some snowfall during the winter. Areas featuring cold semi-arid climates are sometimes subject to major temperature swings during a 24 hour period. At Flagstaff, the combination of high altitude and low humidity provide mild weather conditions throughout most of the year, and the predominantly clear air radiates daytime heating effectively. Temperatures often fall precipitously after sunset throughout the year, and winter nights can be very cold.
