Code of Conduct
Your use of the SKYbrary Discussion Forum constitutes acceptance and agreement to our Forum Code of Conduct, these rules set the posting standards applicable to all members.

Overview
This Code of Conduct is created to provide a basic understanding of what is, and is not allowed throughout all areas of SKYbrary website and the discussion Forum. The following guidelines are for the establishment and enforcement of the code and to:
  • Ensure a friendly atmosphere to Forum members and our visitors.
  • Ensure the privacy of our members and that of others.
  • Encourage responsible use of the Forum and discourage activities which disrupt the Forum community and reduce the value of the SKYbrary services to members and visitors.
  • Encourage freedom of expression and the exchange of information in a mature and responsible manner.

Please avoid turning the Forum into an advertising billboard whereby important and sought after content cannot be easily located due to members involved in commercial ventures seeking only to post in order to place advertisements and referrals without making any attempt to provide tangible support or to advance the information needs of SKYbrary User community.

If you violate the Code of Conduct, we reserve the right to terminate your account without prior notice. We prefer to advise Users of inappropriate behaviour, however, flagrant and repeated violations will result in an account termination. Our failure to enforce this policy, for whatever reason, shall not be construed as a waiver of our right to do so at any time.

The SKYbrary editorial team are charged with preserving the integrity of the Forum content. Editing, deleting content and locking a thread against further entries may become necessary.

Freedom Of Expression
Whilst the SKYbrary editorial team are committed to the principles of free speech and the absence of censorship, certain activities or discussions may needed to be verified and approved by the SKYbrary content management due to possibility of reputation damage to third parties and/or presenting information with potential to endanger the aviation safety.

The resources of SKYbrary editorial team are limited, and abuse of these resources by any member may have a negative affect on the entire Forum community. As a member of the Forum community, you are encouraged to participate responsibly and with appropriate respect to other members, their opinions and beliefs.

We welcome discussions about the merits or otherwise of suppliers services and/or goods by Forum members, however, we also recognise that allowing such discussion may encourage people with an agenda to speak either for or against suppliers with no other motive than to promote the business in question (quite possibly their own), or to damage a competitor's business. When SKYbrary editorial team determines that this is the case, the particular Forum topic will be erased or marked as inappropriate and locked.
