PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU POST

This forum is an integral part of SKYbrary and is provided so that route-based flight safety information which is not readily known from accessible pre-flight planning sources can be posted by those who know for the benefit if those who don’t.
We want to encourage everyone with relevant front line operational safety experience gained by having been to a destination or flown a route to share it both as alerting and with possible solutions. In this way we hope to reduce the number of times when a flight along an unfamiliar route or to an unfamiliar destination encounters a situation which ‘everyone knows` about but which they didn’t! That way, we hope that we can reduce the risk of diminished safety standards and even incidents and accidents for those new to their location.

Our Posting Policy
  • The location you are writing about must be clear. Please use four letter ICAO designators for airports (e.g EHAM) and for FIRs (e.g. KZWY) and use ATS designators for routes (e.g. UL 615). Exceptionally, plain language for the name of an FIR or the three letter IATA designator for airports may be used. Please note that an unofficial reference to ICAO and IATA airport identifier codes is available: ICAO, IATA)
  • Information given should be clear, true to the best of your knowledge, and likely to help other users be alert to existing safety risks.
  • Information given must be current or at least qualified in the post by the date when it was known, to your personal knowledge, to be current.
  • If you see information posted which you believe is posted which is either especially useful, wrong or no longer current, please post to it.
  • Do not post information which is already officially published and also readily accessible internationally. Such information would usually, but not always, include that contained in NOTAMs and most AIP and AIC information. However, sometimes, access to some of the more obscure detail, especially in AIPs and AICs, is not easily gained outside the State to which they refer, so it may be considered useful here.
  • You must show respect for all the Stakeholders in aviation safety and remember that criticism of others is not helpful on the road to awareness and, maybe, solutions.
  • This Forum will be moderated in accordance with our Code of Conduct which is applicable to all Users. Any personal or general accusations will be removed as SKYbrary has neither the expertise nor the time to investigate them.

If you have further queries about posting or the way the Forum is run, please see our FAQ section (TBD).
